Clay Diya

karthiga deepam is a festival of lights. This festival involves the lighting of lamps in the homes, temples and the workplace. The idea behind this festival is to keep away bad things from life and welcome the good and holy things of life.Lamps lit with oil are a symbol of holiness in Indian culture.we lit the lamps in and around our house and also decorate it in rangoli.
I usually use aluminium foil to make a lamp where i cannot keep more in numbers ...so this time i tried my hands in airdryclay for making deepam .you know what ,it came out pretty.it also withstand the heat .Hope you all like it ...

Tie and dye

Tie-dye is a modern term coined in the mid-1960s in the United States for a set of ancient resist-dyeing techniques, and for the products of these processes. The process of tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment and binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dye(s). The manipulations of the fabric prior to application of dye are called resists, as they partially or completely prevent the applied dye from coloring the fabric. More sophisticated tie-dyes involve additional steps, including an initial application of dye prior to the resist, multiple sequential dye and resist steps, and the use of other types of resists (stitching, stencils) and discharge.
I tried my hands in tie and dye simply using fabric paints.i used crystal salt and folding technique to achieve these results.Hope you all like it ....

Mood Board For Interior

I am a silent admirer of colours ...Like to go out for a walk, watching colours in all the things around me, nature, buildings, painting ,accessiories, interiors ,etc.,.Better to say ,not going out for walk ,it's going in ...in things. I always present my painting as a wall piece decor ,not to just showcase my paint ,show how the colors of my piece and the interior wall blend well together. This influenced me in creating mood boards. While browsing ,i saw a site for mood boards by olioboard, got hooked  and end up with this creations.hope you'll like it
While checking updates from my bloglist,i came across some beautiful mood boards in cherishing spaces by Mrs.Vasudha...check her's too, you'll luv it.

Madhubani painting

Hi,
It's my comeback with Madhubani,a colourful traditional painting.I don't have much knowledge in this painting.I inspired by these painting, while surfing the net, decided to work on it ...Hope you all like it.
From Wiki,Madhubani painting or Mithila painting is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar state, India and the adjoining parts of Terai in Nepal. Painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and are characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns. There are paintings for each occasion and festival such as bith, marriage, holi, surya shasti, kali puja, Upanayanam (sacred thread ceremony), and durga puja.

Pencil Drawing

I'm just recalling the way i drew this drawing with a smile on my face.My base material ,a small paper from one of my old note book lying on my kitchen bed.I'm in end of my cooking...have to switch off my gas after one complete boiling of my gravy.Gravy was boiling in the pan(hope you all listening that bubbling sound...blah..blah).Meanwhile just took the pencil and drew this potrait which i saw in some calender ,within 5 to 10 min,but liked the outcome,so preserved it.Thought to share with you all...
